About the project

After opening its doors for Prep to Year 6 students in 2019, the 2020 funding allowed us to build the extra facilities needed for secondary education.

We built 2 learning communities and multi-courts. We also refitted the specialist learning building to accommodate teaching Year 7–9 subjects.

These facilities were ready for Year 7 students in 2022, Years 7 and 8 in 2023 and Years 7, 8 and 9 in 2024.

Funding

In 2020, the second stage of this school project shared in $438.6 million of funding for new schools.

About the project

We finished the first stage of Dohertys Creek P–9 College and it opened for its first students on day 1 of Term 1, 2019. The facilities include a library, learning community, gym and performing arts centre.

We used the additional funding received from the 2018–19 Budget to build a performing arts and physical education facility.

Mainview Boulevard Family Learning Centre is located next to Doherty’s Creek P–9 College, helping local children make a smooth transition from preschool and reducing the number of drop-offs for some parents with kinder and school-aged children.

This school, designed by Architectus and K2LD as part of the Growth Areas Schools Project, was a winner of the 'Minister's Award for Excellence' in the 2019 Victorian School Design Awards.

Dohertys Creek P–9 College has an official Facebook page. Follow the page and stay updated on all the latest news.

Funding

The 2017–18 State Budget allocated $13.806 million towards the school. The school received an additional $4.7 million in the 2018–19 State Budget.
