About the project
We're building a new specialist school in Officer. It will open for day one of Term 1 in 2027 and have places for up to 144 students.
This school will help meet increasing enrolment demand from a growing local population. It will help local students get high-quality education close to home.
When a principal is appointed, they will provide a full enrolment policy including entry eligibility details.
When open for Term 1, 2027 the school will include:
- 2 learning neighbourhoods
- an administration and library building
- a multi-purpose building including rooms for music, drama, food technology and fitness as well as a canteen
- outdoor hard courts and carparks
- junior and senior playgrounds, an adventure playground, productive garden and active green space.

Your new school’s name
We have been using Officer Brunt Road Specialist School as an interim name while the school was being planned and designed. We recently consulted with the community on a name for this school.
Thank you to everyone who participated in the public consultation and provided us with feedback and naming preferences.
The Department of Education will use this information to help inform the decision on this new school’s name. The Minister for Education will announce the new name in the coming weeks. We will share this new name once it is announced.
Funding
In the 2025–26 State Budget, this school received a share of $336.4 million allocated for new schools construction.
