[Inside shot of Biyala Primary School, with Shannon standing in front of a staircase]
[On-screen text: Shannon Cormack, Biyala Primary School principal]
Shannon Cormack: My name is Shannon Cormack. I'm the principal of Biyala Primary School.
[Aerial view of Biyala Primary School. We zoom over the school buildings, see a bird’s eye view of the outdoor play area, and zoom in on a grassy field with seating.]
SC: Our new school is so important for our whole community. It gives our families a purpose-built space right on their doorstep.
[Internal footage of school including desks and classrooms. We see whiteboards, TV screens, shelves, and hallways with seating and shelves.]
SC: It creates a place where children can feel safe, inspired and connected. It's a real milestone for this growing area.
[Overhead footage of the school. We see white buildings, grassy outdoor areas, and shade cloths. We also get a view of two brightly coloured hard courts, a sports field, and outdoor activity areas. After this, we see the grassy outdoor seating area again, with trees in the foreground and white school buildings in the background. The reception building is shown, as well as other areas of the school including bike cages, footpaths, and a playground with shade cloths.]
SC: I love the connection to the natural environment, both the landscaping and the way that the outdoor spaces flow into the classrooms.
[We see footage of landscaped outdoor play areas and shrubs. We then go to the Biyala Kindergarten building, showing an outdoor seating area with lizard patterns coming through the shade cloth. After this, we go into the school’s gymnasium. We see a basketball hoop and volleyball net. This is followed by footage of the library and a staircase.]
