About the project
We built a new specialist school in Kalkallo. It opened in 2026, providing education programs for students with mild to profound intellectual disability.
Lindsey Delooze was appointed the first principal of the school.
The school was known by its interim name, Lockerbie Specialist School, during planning and design. Marra School was chosen as this new school’s name following community and Traditional Owner group consultation. Marra (pronounced mah-rah) is a Wurundjeri Woi wurrung language word meaning community.
For enrolment enquiries or to learn more about the school, please email marra.sch@education.vic.gov.au.
Facilities
The school has the following facilities:
- 2 learning neighbourhoods
- an administration and library building
- a multi-purpose building including rooms for music, drama, food technology and fitness as well as a canteen
- outdoor hard courts and carparks
