About the project
We are helping Cardinia Shire expand and improve Cockatoo Kindergarten.
They will expand the kindergarten room and upgrade the children’s bathrooms. The community room will be turned into a second kindergarten room. They will also increase the play space outside. This will improve access and better connect the indoor and outdoor areas.
This upgrade will allow the service to offer kinder to up to 67 children at a time, an increase of 35. It may be able to enrol more local kids by spreading classes throughout the week.
This will help expand Victoria’s 2 years of free kindergarten, as part of our Best Start, Best Life reforms.

This project received up to $904,000 as part of the Building Blocks Partnership between the Victorian Government and Cardinia Shire Council.
