About the project
We built a new games hall building, and undertook refurbishment works to existing general learning and administration areas. Landscaping works have also provided new opportunities for outdoor learning and nature play.
The games hall provides the school with a centralised hub for sports, music, drama, and art. It includes a competition-sized stadium, spectator seating, and specialist learning spaces, as well as additional student and staff amenities and a new canteen.
The built form of the new Games Hall responds to the architectural language of the existing heritage buildings on the school grounds. It references key elements and incorporates them into the design in a contemporary way, creating a cohesive and integrated design.
The refurbishment works to the existing general learning areas have provided students with collaborative, flexible and nurturing learning environments.
This project, designed by ClarkeHopkinsClarke, was a finalist in the 2019 Victorian School Design Awards.
Funding
In the 2016–17 State Budget, $4 million has been allocated to the school. In the 2017–18 State Budget, $1.5 million was allocated to the school.
