About the project

We built a kindergarten at Biyala Primary School.

The new building will open in Term 1, 2026 and has 2 kindergarten rooms.

Having the kindergarten and school together may help local children make a smooth transition into primary school and can also make drop-off time simpler for some families.

Enrolment

KU Children’s Services have been appointed by the Greater Geelong City Council to run the kindergarten. Please visit their website for more information.

Your new kindergarten name

Biyala Kindergarten was chosen as this kindergarten’s name following community and Traditional Owner group consultation. Biyala (pronounced bee-ah-lah) is a Wadawurrung word meaning place of biyal (red gum).

While being built this kindergarten had the interim names of Biyala Primary School Kindergarten and Warralily Park Primary School Kindergarten.

Funding

In the 2023–24 State Budget, this project shared in $1.3 billion allocated to build around 100 new kindergartens to support Best Start, Best Life.
