About the project
We built a new primary school in Clyde North. It opened in 2026, helping the growing local population get great education close to home.
The school is open for enrolments for students in Prep to Grade 6.
Danielle Heatley was appointed the first principal of the school.
The school was known by its interim name, Clyde Creek North Primary School, during planning and design. Balambalam Primary School was chosen as this new school’s name following community and Traditional Owner group consultation. Balambalam (pronounced BUH-lum-BUH-lum) is a Boonwurrung language word meaning butterfly or moth.
For enrolment enquiries or to learn more about the school, please visit the school's website or email balambalam.ps@education.vic.gov.au.
Facilities
The school has the following facilities:
- an administration and library building
- 3 learning neighbourhoods
- a community hub
- outdoor hard courts
- a carpark
- a sports field.
Supported inclusion school
Balambalam Primary School is a supported inclusion school. Supported inclusion schools (SIS) are different to specialist schools. They are local schools that have facilities to provide extra support for students with a disability. Specialised facilities in these schools may include sensory areas, accessible play spaces and wider corridors.
Funding
In the 2024–25 State Budget, this school shared in $947.7 million allocated for new schools construction.
