About the project
We upgraded and modernised Upwey High School over three stages.
Stage 1
We opened the multipurpose building in March 2020. The building includes, a competition-grade gymnasium with four courts, administration wing and performing art facilities with recording space. The wider community can use these facilities outside of school hours. This was funded in the 2017–18 State Budget.
Stage 2
In stage two, we built an art, science, and technology building and demolished the old stadium. This was funded in the 2018–19 State Budget.
Stage 3
We completed two building refurbishments. They included:
- refurbishing the former administration area to become a new learning support area
- refurbishing Block C to include a new home economics and technology wing.
