About the project
We are building a kindergarten at Mildura South Primary School.
This will help some families before and after school with drop-off and pick-up. It will also help some children make a smoother transition into primary school.
This new kindergarten will have 3 rooms as well as outdoor learning areas. The kindergarten will provide kindergarten for up to 99 children at a time. It may be able to enrol more local kids by spreading sessions throughout the week.
Enrolment
Shine Bright EYM (Early Years Manager)(opens in a new window) has been appointed to run this kindergarten. Mildura Rural City Council is managing enrolments through their Central Registration and Enrolment Scheme. Funding
In the 2023-24 State Budget, this project shared in $1.3 billion allocated to build around 100 new kindergartens to support Best Start, Best Life.

As funded kindergarten for 3 and 4-year-olds becomes more available across Victoria, we are making sure there are enough kindergarten places to meet increased demand.
Kinders at schools
New Victorian primary schools will have a kinder on-site or next door. We're also planning and building a pipeline of kindergartens at existing schools.
