About the project

We built a new primary school in Tarneit. It opened in 2025, helping the growing local population get great education close to home.

The school is open for enrolments for students in Prep to Grade 6.

Nicole O'Brien was appointed as the first principal of the school.

The school was known by its interim name, Riverdale North Primary School, during planning and design. Barayip Primary School was chosen as this new school’s name following community and Traditional Owner group consultation. Barayip (pronounced ba-ray-ip) is a Bunurong word meaning spring.

For enrolment enquiries or to learn more about the school, please email barayip.ps@education.vic.gov.au.

Facilities

The school has the following facilities:

  • an administration and library building
  • 3 learning neighbourhoods
  • a community hub
  • hardcourts
  • a carpark
  • a sports field.
