About the project
We’re building a new primary school in Tarneit. It will open day one of Term 1 in 2025 and help the growing local population get great education close to home.
The school is open for enrolments for students in Prep to Grade 6. It will be able to enrol up to 650 students when the school is complete. You can find out if you're in the school enrolment zone by entering your address at findmyschool.vic.gov.au.
For enrolment enquiries, please email barayip.ps@education.vic.gov.au(opens in a new window).
Your new school’s name
Barayip Primary School was chosen as this new school’s name following community and Traditional Owner group consultation. Barayip (pronounced ba-ray-ip) is a Bunurong word meaning spring.
We used Riverdale North Primary School as an interim name while the school was being planned, designed, and built.
Principal appointment
Nicole O'Brien has been appointed principal of Barayip Primary School. She is a passionate educator with global experience. She believes every child can have a great education, within and beyond school with the support of the community. Nicole recently completed the Victorian Aspiring Principal Assessment and was awarded a scholarship from the Victorian Academy of Teaching and Leadership to complete the Masters in Instructional Leadership at Melbourne University.
Facilities
Once completed, the school will include:
- an administration and library building
- 3 learning neighbourhoods
- a community hub
