We’re building a new primary school in Wollert. It will open day one of Term 1 in 2025 and help the growing local population get great education close to home.

We’re building the school in stages. We're focusing on key buildings for day 1, Term 1 2025, that will cater for the school’s enrolments. The rest of the school is expected to be completed by Term 3, 2025.

The school is open for enrolments for students in Prep to Grade 6. It will be able to enrol up to 525 students when the school is complete. You can find out if you're in the school enrolment zone by entering your address at findmyschool.vic.gov.au.

Your new school’s name

Wirrigirri Primary School was chosen as this new school’s name following community and Traditional Owner group consultation. Wirrigirri (pronounced werry-jerry) is a Woi-wurrung word of the Wurundjeri people meaning messenger.

We used Wollert Central Primary School as an interim name while the school was being planned, designed, and built.

Principal appointment

Bec Spink has been appointed principal of Wirrigirri Primary School. Her career spans over 16 years and includes several leadership roles. She is a dedicated leader, committed to the wellbeing of students and staff. Bec looks forward to building an engaging learning environment that prepares students for future challenges.

When completed, the school will include:

• hardcourts

• a sports field
• a kindergarten.
